Alabama’s Bama’s defense takes the lead on a fumble, but the Tigers are still winless

AUBURN HILLS, Ala.

— Alabama’s defense took control of the game late on Saturday night and overcame a fumble in the fourth quarter to win over Auburn, 38-33.QB T.J. Yates led the way with 17 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown, while Jalen Hurts rushed for 106 yards and two scores and a sack.

Trevon Cajuste added six receptions for 87 yards and scored on a 1-yard run.

The Tide (7-0, 4-0 SEC) improved to 3-0 against the Tigers.

They’re now 2-0 in SEC play after a loss to Auburn in Week 1.

The Crimson Tide are the only unbeaten team in the nation after beating Florida 42-24 on Saturday.

Alabama is 8-0 at home this season and has won seven of nine against the Bulldogs.

They won last week by a score of 24-10.

They’re 2-2 against SEC foes this season.

They’ve won their past five meetings, including a 49-24 victory last season.

Auburn is 6-3 in SEC games.

The Bulldogs have won three straight over Alabama, including last year’s 42-13 win in Death Valley.
