Why ‘the SEC’ won’t lose any sleep over Georgia Tech football game

The SEC isn’t done worrying about its playoff position.

A Georgia Tech-Georgia Bulldogs game is scheduled for Friday in Atlanta.

But there’s a bigger problem for the league: The schedule has changed.

Georgia Tech is set to play Auburn at 7 p.m.

ET in a national semifinal game.

Auburn is set for a noon game in a rematch of last year’s Sugar Bowl.

Georgia Tech, which will host the game at 7:30 p..m., is set on Saturday at 6:30.

The two teams were scheduled to meet on Jan. 30 at Atlanta’s Turner Field.

That game is now slated for noon on Saturday.

The Bulldogs, who lost to Auburn in the Rose Bowl and are now 2-7 in bowl games, will be without two key players from last year, quarterback Taylor Kelly and wide receiver Rashad Greene.

Kelly missed most of last season with an injury.

Greene, who is recovering from an ACL tear, has missed most, as well.
