With the spring training season upon us, there are plenty of players on the move across the country.
There are a lot of exciting prospects heading into the college ranks, and that includes Rutgers Football, which has a new head coach.
But who are the new guys?
And who are they going up against?
The team has gone from a team that went 8-4 to one that is looking to improve.
The Scarlet Knights are ranked No. 1 in the country according to Football Outsiders, and they’re coming off a win over Georgia Southern in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.
Rutgers and Georgia Southern play Saturday in their regular-season finale, and the game is set to be the first of three matchups.
But what’s more impressive than the wins, is that this team has a chance to win the Atlantic 10.
The league is considered one of the toughest in college sports, and this year, the Big Ten is looking for more consistency from its teams.
This year’s slate of games features teams that haven’t had much success in recent years.
Rutgers is coming off an 11-6 season, and in that time, the Scarlet Knights have lost seven of their last eight games.
The team was 9-6 in 2016 before losing to Florida in the ACC championship game and coming in with a 9-7 record in 2017.
The latest edition of the Scarlet Knight’s season is going to be different, though, with a new coach.
After a disastrous start to the season, the program had to find a way to overcome a losing record.
Coach Kyle Flood had a lot to do with the turnaround, but he’s a man who’s always going to want to improve on his team’s record.
Flood has a knack for making adjustments to his gameplan, and his team will need to find new ways to win games.
But Flood won’t have any trouble with his former Rutgers teammates.
As long as they have a plan to get the ball in the end zone, the new Rutgers coach will be able to do it.
